Summary
Through a political marriage, Raffy becomes the wife of Cyrus, the king’s illegitimate son. However, her husband shows her no interest whatsoever. Instead, he keeps the saint Grace constantly at his side, leaving Raffy to endure her days in loneliness and humiliation. Then one day, Cyrus is poisoned to death—and Raffy is falsely accused of the crime and executed. When she opens her eyes again, she finds herself back on the very first day of their marriage, two years earlier. “This time, I will survive.” With that vow, Raffy plans to divorce Cyrus and flee. Yet the once-indifferent Cyrus is bewildered by her sudden change and gradually finds himself drawn to her. Eventually, the two spend a night together, and a faint spark of affection begins to grow within Raffy as well. But fearing that her heart will be betrayed once more, she carries out her escape. Just then, she discovers she is pregnant—and resolves to protect the new life growing within her. Two and a half years later— Having balanced both work and raising her child while waiting for the statute of limitations on her marriage to expire, Raffy suddenly comes face to face with Cyrus again. He now approaches her with an overwhelming, almost unrecognizable devotion. What kind of second ending awaits these two, whose story began with a loveless marriage?
